Begin with the most important duas
Before asking for your worldly worries, remember that the greatest need of every believer is Allah's forgiveness and protection in the Hereafter.
Start your list with these essential duas:
• Ask Allah to forgive all your sins — those done knowingly, unknowingly, and out of forgetfulness.
• Ask Allah to erase your past mistakes and accept your repentance.
• Ask Allah to protect you from the punishment of Jahannam, whose punishment is severe and overwhelming.
• Ask Allah to grant you Jannah, eternal peace, and safety.
• Ask Allah for the greatest success of all — His pleasure and closeness to Him forever.
Remember that every comfort and success in this world is temporary, but the success of the Hereafter is everlasting. Let your duas reflect your deepest hope: to meet Allah while He is pleased with you.
Worries & difficulties
• My job — grant me barakah in my time and focus. Remove anxiety about deadlines and difficult colleagues. Make my work a means of halal provision and not a cause of stress.
• Family health — protect my parents, spouse, and children from illness. Ease any ongoing health worries and give us all strength.
• Fear of failure — help me trust in Your plan. Turn my fear into reliance on You.
DUA TO RECITE
رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad as my Messenger.
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. Upon Him I rely, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ وَفُجَأَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the loss of Your blessings, the removal of Your protection, the sudden onset of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure.
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا
Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. O Allah, reward me in my calamity and replace it with something better.
Goals & wishes
• Excel at work with honesty and excellence. Open doors for growth and responsibility that benefit my family and the ummah.
• Build a peaceful home. Make my marriage a source of mercy and my children righteous and close to the Qur’an.
• Consistency in worship — Fajr on time, more dhikr, and sincerity in every act.
DUA TO RECITE
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Our Lord, grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَاىَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي وَاحْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَىَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي
O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and in the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religious and my worldly affairs. O Allah, conceal my faults, calm my fears, and protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being taken unaware from beneath me.
اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي دِينِيَ الَّذِي هُوَ عِصْمَةُ أَمْرِي وَأَصْلِحْ لِي دُنْيَايَ الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَاشِي وَأَصْلِحْ لِي آخِرَتِي الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَادِي وَاجْعَلِ الْحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِي فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ وَاجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِي مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ
O Allah, set right for me my religion which is the safeguard of my affairs. Set right for me my worldly life wherein is my livelihood. Set right for me my Hereafter to which is my return. Make life for me an increase in every good, and make death for me a relief from every evil.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دَعْوَةٍ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not humble itself, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.
Weaknesses to improve
• Patience with my children when I’m tired. Help me respond with gentleness, not anger.
• Disconnecting from screens and giving my family quality time.
• Being a people-pleaser — I want to please Allah first and live with confidence.
DUA TO RECITE
يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ
O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.
اللَّهُمَّ مُصَرِّفَ الْقُلُوبِ صَرِّفْ قُلُوبَنَا عَلَى طَاعَتِكَ
O Allah, Controller of the hearts, direct our hearts toward Your obedience.
اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَسَدِّدْنِي
O Allah, guide me and make me steadfast and correct.
رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of those who show mercy.
People to pray for
• My parents — long life in health and iman, forgiveness, and the highest ranks in Jannah.
• My spouse — love, understanding, and a bond that grows in obedience to Allah.
• My children — righteousness, love for the Qur’an, and protection from harm. Make them the coolness of our eyes.
• Colleagues and relatives — guide them and grant them ease. For those who wronged me, grant them guidance and forgive.
DUA TO RECITE
إِنِّي أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
Indeed, I seek refuge for her in You and for her offspring from Shaytan, the accursed.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ
My Lord, grant me from Yourself a pure offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.
أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
I seek protection for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous creature, and from every harmful eye.
رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my offspring as well. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.
Indeed, I am near — When My servants ask about Me
